Two years ago, the Installation Commander gave us the mission of establishing the Protocol Office to advise, assist, and support him and the Command Group on official matters pertaining to the planning, hosting, coordinating and officiating of related ceremonial events and activities for distinguished visitors, both foreign and domestic. The office started with nothing, just the goal of accomplishing this mission the only way we knew – doing our best. Since then, the Protocol Office has worked over 300 different activities and proven to be an effective tool for the Commander and the Command Group not only on official matters pertaining to ceremonial events and activities with distinguished visitors and official functions off-post, but also serving as a strong link with the local community. And we couldn’t have done it without all the information and experience shared at your courses. Yes, there are always books, manuals, rules and regulations but nothing can substitute the experiences shared with other fellow protocol specialists.
