Practical Protocol for the Military & Government

Modifies guidance on pages 68 & 69 and 82-84 regarding place cards and the correct use of military ranks on them.  Brings into agreement guidance in this publication with that prescribed in Navy OPNAVINST 1710.7.

On pages 21-22, clarifies DoD policy on precedence for Senior Executive Service (SES) members by eliminating references to Code 5 (2-star) level for SES of the OSD, DoD agencies, and JCS and clarifying that SES precedence may extend to the 2 and 3-star level within the individual services if deemed appropriate to a specific position.
