Combined Phase I & II Course, Protocol and Event Management for the Military & Government NOTE: This class is currently full. The next Combined Phase I & II class will be December 8-12 in Orlando, Florida.
Dress for the class is casual civilian wear. Slacks,
shirts, jeans, blouses, sweatshirts are appropriate. Uniforms, coats and
ties, etc. are not necessary. Lodging is available at the Crowne Plaza San Antonio Airport at the 2008 per diem rate of $112. Reservations can be made by calling the Crowne Plaza hotel at 1-210-828-9031 and indicating that you are making a reservation under group name "JMAR Management & Training, September 21-26." Lodging reservations should be made by August 22, 2008, which is the date our block of rooms will be released. You can still register for the class up until its start date, but after August 22, rooms may no longer be available at the course rate. Should that happen, first ask for a reservation at the Government rate and if the hotel still indicates rooms aren't available, go to the hotel website (click on the 'Hotel info' link above) and try to make a reservation at the Government rate.
A complimentary ice breaker will be held
September 22
from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel for all class participants.
Dress is very casual. There will also be a complimentary luncheon for all
participants on September 24. Located less than a mile from San Antonio International Airport, the Crowne Plaza hotel offers complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport. The hotel also features the Cilantro! Oven restaurant located in the hotel lobby serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including room service. Other amenities of the hotel include a fitness center and whirlpool, outdoor pool, business center, high-speed internet access in guest rooms, and complimentary guest parking. Participants flying in for the class should arrange their travel to San Antonio International Airport (SAT) to arrive on or before September 21. The airport features a full range of rental car agencies. What's to do in San Antonio? The Alamo and Riverwalk are located in downtown San Antonio 15 minutes from the Crowne Plaza. Other major attractions include SeaWorld and Six Flags Fiesta, both located minutes from the Crowne Plaza. Also in San Antonio is Fort Sam Houston 10 minutes south from the airport. A trolley bus tour of San Antonio to include its Spanish missions is also available. Tickets (about $18 per person) can be purchased at the Menger Hotel downtown and the trolley boarded immediately outside the hotel.
